Pattaya is the place where you can enjoy the endless attractions and

Sightseeing
Despite being a small town, Pattaya city is teemed with interesting places to
see and have fun with.
Khao Pattaya (Khao Prabat):
The vantage point on the hill of South
Pattaya offers panoramic views of the whole city of Pattaya, its crescent bay
and night lights. This is also the site of the Naval Radio Station. On the top
of the hill, a sacred Buddha image is enshrined as well.
Mini Siam & Mini Europe:
Located three kilometers north of Central
Pattaya, this place displays Thai and European heritage on a miniature scale.
This is the third miniature city in the world after Netherlands and Taiwan which
collect models of important objects and historical sites of different culture
together in one place. More than 100 models, each on a scale of 1:25 are

Million Years Stone Park and Crocodile Farm:
The Park and Farm are
located nine kilometers from Pattaya town, consisting of breeding pens with more
than 1,000 crocodiles, zoo, and bonsai garden decorated with rock formations.
Open daily form 8.30-18.00 hrs. There are also crocodile shows at 11.00, 14.00

Wat Yansangwararam:
This is a royal temple, located 15 kilometers
south of Pattaya. The temple was dedicated to Somdej Phra Yansnagworn, the
present Supreme Patriarch in 1976 and was admitted under the patronage of His
Majesty the King. The temple comprises a pavilion, which enshrines a replica of
the Buddha's footprints, and a large Pagoda which houses the relics of the Lord
Buddha. Nearby, there stands Vihan Sian, a Chinese-style building which houses
antiques and art objects from China. The admission fee is 30 baht per person.
Pattaya elephant village:
It is situated on Pornprapanimitr Road. The
village is well-known for elephant performances which are held at 14.30, lasting

Panarak Park:
The Park is located on Pornprapanimitr Road, offering
the tropical garden setting with fishing ponds and fishing equipment available
for rent. Accommodation and swimming pool are also available for visitors.
Nong Nooch Garden:
The garden is featured by the magnificent landscape
comprising the botanical gardens, orchid nursery, and Thai-style-houses. The
highlight to the garden is the cultural performance and Thai classical dance as
well as elephant shows, held daily at 10.15 a.m., 3 p.m. The park is situated 15
kilometers south of Pattaya, covering an area of some 500 acres.
Bang Saray Fishing Village:
The village is about 16 kilometers from
Pattaya City, a few kilometers off Sukhumvit Highway at kilometer 165. It is
visited for game fishing and seafood restaurants. A deep-water bay which lies on
the southern part of the village is the ideal place for fishing; boats may be
rented for fishing or diving to see the coral beds. To the north, there is a
park with a beach good for swimming. There are also local accommodations with
recreational facilities available.
Markets:
It is a remarkable experience to visit the local markets in
Pattaya, you will see the daily life of local people doing their trades,
creating the vibrant and lively atmosphere. The nice markets not to be missed in
Pattaya are Theprasit Market and Nakleua Market. The first one is a bit off the
normal track, taking a motorcycle taxi is suggested, just ask them to go "Talaad
Theprasit"; it costs 30-40 baht from walking street and takes just 10
minutes. There is a wide variety of products sold at the market at cheap price,
from clothes to foods. The other, Nakleua is situated on the north of Pattaya.
It is good to come early because this is a fish market from 5.00 am-9.00am.
Taxis cost around 30 baht per person or in a group for 100 baht.
Walking Street:
This is the only one road opened for pedestrians
during the nighttime, there are small shops selling handicrafts and various
kinds of products along the street. This is a must for every visitor to Pattaya.
Bottle Museum:
This is the only Bottle Museum in the world, containing
a weird kind of art. The well-know tourist attractions, churches, temples,
palaces, ships both Thai and foreign in a form of miniature artworks are put in
glass bottles. These creations result from the ceaseless efforts of Dutch
sculptor, Mr. Peter Bedelais who crafted the diverse intricate parts and brought
them together in glass bottles in different shapes. Open daily from 9 am.-8 pm.

Ripley's believe it or not Museum:
The museum is located on the third
floor of the Royal garden Plaza, beach Road. A collection of curious objects
from every corner of the world of Mr. Ripley's are displayed here. These
extraordinary objects are divided into over 250 categories such as optional
illusions, peculiar lifestyle of unusual people and devices of human torture
from ancient time. Open daily from 10 am.-midnight. Tel. (038) 710294-8
Bhira International Circuit Race Course:
Situated at kilometer 14 on
the Route 36 to Rayong, about 15 kilometers from Pattaya City, this is an
international car and motorcycle race course. The 2.4 kilometers circuit is
ideal for Formula 3 races. The circuit opens everyday and there are local races
taking place regularly on Saturdays and Sundays.
Pattaya Water Park:
The water park is on Thapphrava Road, Jomtien
Beach, offering an amusement park, swimming pool, and a gigantic slide. It is an
ideal site for family relaxation. In the park, there stands Pattaya Tower, the
first highest seaside tower with revolving restaurant on the top. From about 240
meters of its height, you see the panoramic view of Pattaya. Those who would

Natural appreciation
Being the premier beach resort in Thailand, Pattaya offers lovely beaches
with clear water together with several beautiful coral islands. Along the 15
kilometers of Pattaya's shore, you can enjoy lulling and basking in the sun on
the beach and swimming in warm, clear water as well as working you energy out by
various kinds of water sports. Diving is also possible for viewing the undersea
scenery; you can rent a boat going to islands offshore from a pier at South
Pattaya. Herein, the most popular beaches and islands with their characteristic
beauty and distinctive atmosphere are mentioned; they are all waiting to welcome
you and fulfill your wonderful relaxation.
Beaches
Pattaya Beach:
Stretching some 4 kilometers, Pattaya beach is the
major venue from where boats head to the islands offshore. The curved beach in
north to south direction is fringed with tree lines, shady promenade path and
beach road. The beach itself is actually divided into three parts, North,
Central, and South Beaches-each with its typical environment and atmosphere.
North and Central Beaches are not as bustling as the South beach; they offer
relatively serene and relaxing ambiance with shady footpath along the clean
sandy beach which is good for taking a walk, jogging or cycling around. The
South beach is the most vibrant and dynamic all day all night. It is the heart
of the city, teemed with bars, restaurant, hotels, shopping complexes, and etc.
Several kinds of water sport gears are also available for rent on the beach.
Nakleua Beach:
The beach is located immediately north of Pattaya; it
is much more tranquil with fishing harbor and local population who still live
their life fishing. There are not many luxurious resort hotels like its neighbor
to the south.
Jomtien Beach:
The six- kilometer-stretch of sand lies some 4
kilometers south of Pattaya. The beach is less congested and offers the quieter
ambiance. It also becomes popular with water sport activities, especially
windsurfing because of its long straight coastline and fewer boats in the sea.
There are several types of accommodations available here. Like other areas,
there are still bars, restaurants, clubs which cater you at night but less
vibrant.
Wong Phra Chan Beach:
This is a small beach with its peaceful
atmosphere, stretching one kilometer in length. Its serene ambiance makes it the
ideal place for those who long for complete relaxation and privacy. It is
located on the northern side of Pattaya Bay.
Bangsaen Beach:
Located around 13 kilometers from Chonburi town. There
are many restaurants offering the delicious local food along the beach. Several
hotels and bungalows are also available.
Islands
In Pattaya Bay, there are some small islands offshore, offering beautiful
beaches, clear water and coral beds. You can reach there either by taking a tour
or by hiring a boat from the promenade or pier at South Pattaya. Costs depend on
destination, type of boat and some bargaining skills.
Koh Lan:
The island stands about 7.7 kilometers west of Pattaya, 45
minutes by tourist boat and 15 minutes by speed boat. It covers an area of 4
square kilometers, offering beautiful beaches, clear water, and abundant coral
beds. Visitors can view the wonderful undersea scenery either from a
glass-bottom boat or by diving down directly. The most well-known beach is Ta
Waen Beach lying on the northwest coast. This 750-meter-stretch of white sand is
lined with may stalls and shops as well as boats which stop here first on the
island. There are also other lovely beaches lying along the island's shore. On
the south-western side, there are two interesting beaches, Laem Thian Beach and
Samae Beaches, each spanning a length of 700 and 100 meters, respectively. Both
are visited for its clean beach and serene ambiance, especially Laem Thian
Beach. There are now a few stores serving visitors on these beaches. On the
western side of the island, there lies another beautiful beach called Ta Pan
Beach. The beach is fringed by the beds of coral where boats come every
Saturday, Sunday, and holiday to let visitors view beautiful corals under the
sea. On the southern part is Nuan Beach which is the ideal for seeing corals as
well. Stretching for 450 meters in length, the beach offers a hotel which lodges
a large number of tourists.
Apart from these beaches, there are other beaches which are also visited, for
example, Laem Hua Khon Beach on the back and front sides and Laemrae
Beach. On the island, you will be busy with a gamut of activities, including
swimming, coral viewing, para-sailing, water-skiing, water scooter riding, and
etc.
Koh Krok:
It is a small island covering an area of 0.05 square
kilometer, lying around 8 kilometers from the shore. The island is mostly
composed of rock, offering the only 100 meter-sand-beach on the east side. Koh
Krok is mainly visited for coral viewing.
Koh Sak:
This is a small island in horse shoe shape with an area of
0.05 square kilometer. The Island stands some 10 kilometers west of Pattaya, 600
meter away from Ko Lan. It possesses two beaches; one stretches for 250 meters
in the northern part, the other is in the south, stretching for 80 meters. The
beach is fringed by a coral reef, and there is a walking path connecting the two
beaches with each other. Skin diving is possible in the vicinity of the islands.
Koh Phai:
Koh Phai consists of other several small islands scattering
around such as Koh Manwichai, Koh Luam, Koh Klung Badan, and etc; Koh Phai is
the largest. This group of islands is currently under the supervision of the
Royal Navy. The islands stand about 13 kilometers from Pattya, two hours by
boat. On the top of the hill on Koh Phai, there is a lighthouse from which you
can get a panoramic view. The islands offer a good opportunity for swimming,
fishing, and diving to see coral.
Nightlife
Nightlife in Pattaya attracts a great deal of visitors from all over the
world for its vivacity and ceaselessness of entertaining activities. South
Pattaya is the most vibrant center among sundowners; bars, go-go bars,
restaurants, night markets, discos and all kinds of entertainment are all on
hand. After sunset, colorful neon light signs brighten Pattya up and chase the
nocturnal curtain which envelopes the city away, only happy time and recreation
are left.
The three sois of Pattayaland form a major bar district, as do Soi 2, Soi 7,
Soi 8, Soi Yodsak, Soi Yamoto, Soi Post Office, Sunee Plaza, Second Road around
Soi 9, & Naklua Rd.
Walking Street is another area where you can find bars, restaurants and
discos opening until dawn. Also, there are a number of massage services around
this area. Restaurants with live music and karaoke abound as well. In addition,
stalls and shops are in along lone selling local products from food to
handicrafts and the list continues…
Pattaya is also famous for its cabaret shows, particularly the transvestite
spectacles which will redefine your conception about male and female. All
dancers are stunningly beautiful that you cannot indicate any difference between
a woman and man. There are two most famous cabaret shows in the north end of
Pattaya, on Pattaya 2 Road.
For dining out, there is a huge variety of food to choose, Thai and Western.
Seafood is worth tasting; most seafood restaurants offer delicious menus with
very fresh seafood. Live fish and shellfish are often found in the water tank.
Or, just sitting on a chair, drinking soft drink and watching people hanging
around and during nighttime is already a valuable appreciation of the lively
nightlife in Pattaya.
